We are enjoying the holiday weekend away from home, celebrating with friends who are getting married this evening.
The setting for the wedding is The Lodge on the beautiful McDonald's campus. There are no McDonald's restaurants here. Instead, our hotel sits at the edge of a lake, surrounded by lush greenery and walking paths. We are steps from Hamburger University and other corporate buildings. Up and down the halls, the art contains McDonald's products and logos. Queen Elizabeth eating a Big Mac, Golden Arches in the background of a pastoral scene. The physical presence of the McDonald's corporation here is a reminder of Ray Kroc's visionary leadership in forming, directing, and growing McDonald's to a place of worldwide recognition and phenomenal financial success.
Ray Kroc achieved results.
This month, we will return to a theme of the month for the LeaderTalk blog, based on the leadership competencies taught by Mountain State University's Charles H. This month, we will focus on "A Leader Achieves Results."
As in previous months, I invite you to submit links to your post on this topic. We will host a Round-Up of posts on Wednesday, September 29. Please email me at brobinson@mountainstate.edu no later than Friday, September 24th. I look forward to reading your posts on this topic.
Here are a couple of reading suggestions for your holiday weekend:
